Last Sunday my studio once again had people in it and it felt great!
Without Mercy are a Vancouver-based metal band. They've been together for a few years and recently signed with metal music label Nuclear Blast (this is a really big deal). We'd shot together in the past, but on this shoot we went all out and shot both in-studio and on location in Delta and Richmond. Our shoot concluded with a setup in the ocean near the Vancouver airport. The water was cold, but everyone was a trooper and we all waded in to get the shot. A large soft-box with strobe running off a battery pack on a boom was held over the heads of the guys so we could get a nice punchy fill light on the faces. This was shot on my trusty old Canon 5D Mark 3 with my Canon 17-40mm f4 L lens.
The finished image turned out really cool and the shoot was a great start to what will hopefully be a decent remainder to 2020. I'm looking forward to shooting much more!
